Neon, neon and more neon

Sorry for being M.I.A. I was sucked into the time warp that is track out.  I have been loving these neon pink shorts that I got from Old Navy. So many ways to wear them!

The first outfit was from lunch with a friend last week.

This second outfit is from the Cape Cod Chowder Festival today. Please excuse my photobomber.

Gingham and neon

Sunday Funday! We went to church and then headed to the Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo. It was pure madness but it was fun. Over 50 food trucks were there. We had a super yummy Jerk Chicken Philly from Sarge's Chef on Wheels and Locopops. None of which is on my diet but it was super yummy! I didn't get a picture of our food, I have a thing about food pictures but we did get a picture of the scene.
It was hotter than you know what but we survived. Love going local and exploring downtown Raleigh, it has come a long way from the downtown I grew up with and I love seeing it in all its splendor.

But back to the fashion. Here is what I wore today, gingham with a pop of neon:

 Shirt: Ralph Lauren Polo (Marshall's)
Necklace: Old Navy (in store, can't find it on their website)
Shorts: Old Navy
Shoes*: Target
*Obsessed with these shoes right now, they were on sale last week for $14 but if you missed this super deal, don't worry because they are $15 regularly priced. They are my answer to the Tory Burch Emmy sandals that I really want but these Target ones are more in the budget for the moment. I love the occasional splurge for top designers but only when we can afford to swing it. As much as I love looking cute, I am also all about staying on track with our budget.

Noonday Style

My Noonday order came super fast. Like within a week. I was gone in DC when it came but I couldn't wait to wear it. It was every bit as fabulous as I had hoped. I wore it with just a basic black tee but I can't wait to dress it up too. I love that it comes with the story of the woman who made it.

You can order this necklace here: Unpredictable Necklace

Shirt: Old Navy
Necklace: Noonday
Jeans: 7 For All Mankind (old)
Shoes: Tory Burch

Summer is here!

First day of track out was a fabulous day spent with the hubby. We ran errands in the morning and attended a commissioning ceremony for the Marines for one of Jorge's classmates.

 Necklace: Groopdealz
Pants: Bass Outlet (old)
Shoes: Jack Rogers

*I found this super cute brand at the Junior League Shopping Spree and since then I have ordered several things from her. She is going to start offering dresses with ruffles and I can't wait! You can also find her on Facebook.

In the afternoon we headed to the mall. We did a little shopping, got a massage and then went to see The Great Gatsby. It was every bit as fabulous as I had hoped. I would have loved to have lived in such a fabulous time as the 1920's. Flapper dresses, head pieces, men in 3 piece suits with canes and hats...I die!
I already loved these two but this movie made me love them even more! Leo is a class act and Carey Mulligan is flawless, as always!

A few weeks ago we saw signs at Brooks Brothers about how their archives inspired the costumes for the movie. As if I didn't already love Brooks Brothers for outfitting 39 of the 44 American Presidents. Including my favorite, Lincoln. In fact, the jacket he was assassinated in was a Brooks Brothers custom piece that had hand stitched on the lining One Country, One Destiny. I mean really? See why he is my favorite? But I digress, the costume designer looked through the Brooks Brothers archives to get ideas for the film. And in my book makes them that much classier. Swoon.

Catch up

Been out of town for the last few days with a school field trip and my computer was being updated while I was gone...so let's play catch up:

Saturday's outfit:
Tank: Walmart (old)
pants: Old Navy (old)
Shoes: Asics

Finished my half marathon in 2 hours and 26 minutes, a respectable time and much better than my first half marathon.

On Saturday I also met my "daily quota" when my latest Groopdealz purchase arrived.

Rocked it with this to run errands on Sunday:

 chambray shirt: Old Navy (old)
tank: Old Navy
Shorts:Old Navy
Shoes: Jack Rogers
necklace: Groopdealz

DC was great and the chaperones had a blast...I think the kids did too.

The kids taught us how to do the 'duck face' and we got photo bombed.

Surprisingly delicious

Ruffle Tuesday in DC...

shirt: Target
cardigan*: J.Crew Factory
shorts: Old Navy

*I absolutely love this cardigan from J.Crew Factory. I got another one that has navy and red stripes. It is super soft and light. Perfect!

Last day of school:

 shirt: Old Navy (old)
tank: Old Navy
pants: Target
shoes: Old Navy (old)
earrings**: Bellevue Newport

**I was excited that my Bellevue Newport Hip to be Square studs came in the mail while I was out of town. I also ordered them in mint and I can't wait to wear them as well. I know I will get a ton of use out of the white pair that I am wearing today. Super cute, great prices and sweet company. I will definitely purchase from them again! Check out their Facebook page for great deals as well.
