Getting the most out of my summer wardrobe

I love, love, love this dress, I bought it at the end of last summer on sale and I was waiting for a special occasion to wear it. How about summer is almost over and I didn't want to wait another year to wear it?

Ruffles make me happy and so does this dress. I haven't yet worn it this summer so I had to bring it out. Works perfectly with this fan necklace.

School style

Another day, another blog post. Catching up on all of these outfits almost makes me miss summer, ALMOST. But it is too dang hot in the south to miss summer.

So naturally I wore this dress on a Tuesday because it has ruffles. I forgot that it was also picture day. What are the chances that I wore this same dress two years ago for picture day? Yeah, exactly. Also, the LifeTouch photographers never fail to take the WORST picture of me possible. I take better one handed selfies and we pay them to take pictures? It's an outrage!

This dress makes me think about my alma mater, NC State. I originally bought it for my hubby's graduation party but the day of was cray cray and there was no time for an outfit change in between the ceremony and his party. Please also note the newest accessory, my Rainbow Loom bracelets compliments of my sweet students. If you aren't in the loop (no pun intended) Rainbow Loom bracelets are the newest craze. The kids are obssessed, they had to make a rule that they can only wear 2 at a time because it was becoming a distraction. Plus, you gotta teach them early not to over-accessorize.

Ruffles, neon and polka dot pants

Sooooooooo, I took an unplanned hiatus from blogging. Such is the life of a teacher. I had every intention of blogging my outfits week by week. I also had every intention of leaving school by 4pm and not taking home any papers to grade. Doesn't that sound fabulous? That was cute that I thought that ANY of those would happen. Here's to hoping next quarter is better.

Let's take another moment to talk about this dress. I drooled over it all summer but waited until it went on sale towards the end of the season. Not only is it ahhdorable, it is flattering and it has POCKETS! I think all dresses should have pockets. It is always a sweet surprise when I put on a dress, wear it for a while and then realize it has pockets. It is like finding a $20 bill in your winter coat. The only thing I am sad about is that I will have to put it away for next summer. Maybe I can wear it once with boots? Seahorses and boots totally go together, right???
